What is a small wedding and how is it different from an elopement or microwedding?

Answer: A small wedding is an intimate celebration with a close circle of guests, usually between 2 and 20 people. It can be an alternative to an elopement: an outdoor ceremony with loved ones, without a banquet hall or large crowd. A “microwedding” often includes up to 30–50 guests, but the concept remains the same — warm emotions, personalization, and a relaxed atmosphere. How many guests can I invite to a small PicnicCanary wedding?

Answer: We recommend a format of 2–20 guests for a comfortable and intimate celebration. This creates a cozy atmosphere and allows us to pay attention to every guest. A smaller guest list helps make the ceremony feel more personal and aesthetically curated. While the term “microwedding” can sometimes include up to 30–50 guests, the PicnicCanary format focuses specifically on private small weddings. If needed, the guest list can be slightly expanded.

 

Can children or pets attend the wedding?

Answer: A small wedding usually focuses on a calm and intimate atmosphere, so many couples choose to invite only adults and their closest loved ones. However, if children are an important part of your family story, we are happy to discuss it individually. Pets can also join the ceremony or photoshoot — for example, a dog can beautifully complement a wedding picnic setting. The main thing is to coordinate details in advance so the location and weather conditions are suitable for everyone’s comfort.

What is included in a PicnicCanary small wedding package?

Answer: We offer full-service small wedding planning. Packages typically include a unique location selection (beach, cliffs, park, or private villa), professional styling with textiles, flowers, candles, and an arch, catering in the form of a buffet or chef-prepared dinner, and a professional wedding photoshoot. The package also includes wedding day coordination, setup and breakdown of décor, table styling, and post-event cleanup. Every package can be customized based on your preferences and ceremony style.

 

Is catering and food included in the wedding package?

Answer: Yes, most PicnicCanary small wedding packages include catering and drinks. We organize light buffets, romantic dinners, or elegant wedding tables with appetizers, fruit platters, desserts, and local delicacies. Champagne, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are usually included as well. If desired, you can also add a wedding cake or personalized menu options. If any guests have allergies or dietary restrictions, we will adapt the menu in advance.

 

Can I choose a wedding theme or décor style?

Answer: Absolutely. PicnicCanary specializes in personalized wedding décor and custom styling. You can choose any ceremony style, including boho, minimalist, classic elegance, eco-inspired, romantic sunset themes, or something entirely unique. We carefully select the color palette, arch, fabrics, flowers, candles, and decorative details according to your vision. Personalized signs, garlands, and photo zones can also be added upon request

Where can a small wedding be held?

Answer: A small wedding can be organized in almost any scenic location across the Canary Islands. Popular options include the beaches of Tenerife and Lanzarote, ocean-view cliff viewpoints, lush gardens, volcanic landscapes, and private villas. We can also arrange wedding picnics in the countryside or within hotel grounds. We help select the perfect location based on your style, wedding format, and number of guests.

 

Are permits or fees required for a beach or park ceremony?

Answer: Official wedding ceremonies require advance approval and legal documentation through the local municipality. For symbolic ceremonies, permits are usually not necessary, especially for small events held in open public spaces. We help guide you through the paperwork process and advise you on any permits needed for your chosen location.
